The Miami Art Deco Open is played at the Crandon Park Tennis Center on Key Biscayne, also home to the Sony-Ericson, home of the 5th Grand Slam. You can play on the same courts where Federer, Nadal, Venus, Serena, Maria, and many other pros have played. Come to Miami and enjoy the tennis, the weather, the facilities, the parties, and a very friendly staff.
Held over Martin Luther King Day weekend, January 13-16th, 2012. The Miami Art Deco Open attracts players of all levels from around the world, including the USA, France, England, Spain, Italy and Canada, who annually come to The Miami Art Deco.
The 2011 Miami Art Deco Open was a complete success. All the players had much fun, both on and off the court. The tournament could not have been as successful, if it wasn't for our Sponsors, Volunteers, the Organizing Committee, and of course our wonderful players. THANKS GUYS!!!

Payment for this year's tournament can only be made via Pay Pal. Registration to this event will only be complete once payment has been made. The cost for one event is $125 and two events $140. There is an Early Bird Special for those who sign up prior to December 24th 2011. An additional banquet guest ticket is also available for $45 per person. These fees are inclusive of the Pay Pal administrative charges and the GLTA player fee.

REGISTRATION: All entries, including payment, must be received by the January 11, 2012 deadline date. No telephone or faxed entries will be accepted. Entries will be accepted on a first-come basis. A waiting list will be maintained if more entries are received than can be accommodated. As players withdraw from the tournament, players on the waiting list will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. In order to assure your entry, register early.
Once the draw has been made, no players who would be seeded in a division will be allowed to substitute. If you apply for entry into the doubles event indicating a partner, and your partner’s application is not timely, and the draw is filled, you will be offered the choice between assignment of another partner or not playing in that draw.
CONFIRMATION: For confirmation of your entry please visit the GLTA web site (GLTA). In addition, confirmations will be sent to applicants who provide email addresses.
EVENTS OFFERED AND DRAW SIZES:
We are offering split division for the first time as a result of the new GLTA ranking rules. The GLTA's new ranking system will be effective at this tournament. Your ranking and thus the division you register for will be based upon your last 5 tournament results only!! You will need to check your ranking and calculate your points to insure you are playing in the correct division. Players registering for the incorrect division will be notified and reassigned to the proper division. As the first tournament to use this new system, we appreciate your understanding. Divisions will be offered based upon the number of entries received for each.
A separate division for women is not being offered. However, we greatly encourage your participation and women will have the option to join the men's draw at one division lower than their GLTA rank.
Refunds will not be given unless the player withdraws before the refund deadline.
MATCH FORMAT: All main draw matches will be best of two out of three sets; regular scoring with a 12 point tiebreaker, played at 6 games all. Consolation play will be offered to players who lose their first round singles matches. Consolation match format will be 8-game pro-sets, no-ad scoring, with a 12 point tiebreaker at 8 games all. Clay courts may be used for play during the consolation rounds, depending on schedule.
DRAWS: The draws will be made no later than one week prior to the start of the tournament. The exact draw date may be changed at the discretion of the Tournament Director. Draws and match times will be posted and player packets distributed at the Draw Party on Thursday evening, January 14 between 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m.
REFUNDS: Refunds will only be issued if you withdraw before January 8, 2011. 50% refunds will be issued if you withdraw between entry deadline and draws posted. NO refunds will be given after the draws are made.
SEEDINGS: Seedings will be based primarily on the GLTA ranking points system. Special seeding considerations may be given as a result of recent tournament results. See 'SEEDING' section of the application below. The Tournament Committee will make the final decision regarding such matters.
RULES: The tournament will be played according to USTA rules unless superseded by GLTA rules. Each player must check in to the tournament desk at least 15 minutes prior to match times. A five minute warm-up will be enforced. Once the match is called, the USTA 15 minute default time will be enforced.
ON-COURT ATTIRE: Proper tennis attire and footwear are required.
HOSTED HOUSING : Very generous club members of the Miami Mavericks Tennis Club have offered to open their homes to out-of-town players; however, we have limited availability and it will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. We strongly suggest that if you are being housed that you will still need to rent a car to get around and back and forth to the tennis site.
